I hope you have had an enjoyable start to the football season and are looking forward to the festive period, albeit we have to endure a forced break from football. Here’s an update on what’s going on around the club.
Firstly, I want to bring you up to speed on the new ground, which disappointingly continues to experience delays, largely outside of our control. At the moment we are working to a timeline of the pitches and car park being ready for use at some point in February. These delays have been caused by issues with utilities trenches going underneath the car park, which need to be completed before the car park can be laid, and the very wet autumn we have experienced which has delayed vital drainage works on the new pitches.
We continue to be at the mercy of third parties, as well as the weather but remain optimistic. Your continued patience is appreciated but rest assured we are all as frustrated as you are that we are still at Junction Road at this time.
If you haven’t seen it already, we have a fun quiz with supper lined up for Saturday 18th January 2020 at Alderbury Social Club. All money raised will go directly to the club. Please join us for this event if you are able. It will be a great night and help to swell our coffers, so all in all, a win-win. Speak to your coach for details and tickets.
On our website there are a number of volunteering opportunities that you may wish to consider. Joining our volunteer force is incredibly rewarding and a great opportunity for you to help shape our club. Please take a look and speak to me if you are interested or want further information.
I wish everyone a merry Christmas and peaceful New Year.
